It's that time again! In a little over a week I'll be moving back to my college campus to start my junior year, so it's time to recap what I've accomplished over the summer! There were some bumps in the road, but I thoroughly enjoyed my break and am looking forward to seeing what a new school year brings!
From May to today's post, I've published a whopping 29 blog posts! Writing and posting twice a week feels difficult sometimes, but seeing how I've been able to stay pretty consistent over the summer makes me feel proud and motivates me to keep going. A few of my favorite posts of the summer were my food posts, like my Hokkaido milk bread recipe, earl grey chocolate truffles, or my French toast with strawberry preserves!
This summer I also had the privilege to work on some paid design projects! One is still in the final stages of completion, but I can show you all some things!
The first project I completed was a website for an artist local to my hometown. He specializes in abstract art and wanted a website that would be simple and straight forward to ensure that his work shines through. I created a website and photographed all his work, so if you want to take a look at that site or are just interested in abstract art, click here!
My next project is just a hair from being completed, but I have material I can show you! My second paid project for the summer was another local business. The woman behind Touch of Lavender grows all her own plants and makes the lavender into products like essential oil and bath salts. I was tasked to do a full re-brand for her, including a website, product photography, and things like business cards and stationery. We're still finishing up the stationery, but if you'd like to have a poke around her new website, click here!
I also took a trip to New York City with my best friend. We saw all the sights and ate some great food. It was a blast, and you can see some posts about it here and here!
Over the summer I also posted on my Instagram pretty frequently, and will continue to post as I go back to school! To keep up with my posts, click here.
I've really enjoyed my summer and I'm grateful for the break. I know that when I go back to school, I'll really be hitting the ground running but I'm ready for it! Now I just have to organize all the stuff I'm going to take with me...
Thanks for reading!
